In a professional career spanning over forty years, Peter Glass has acquired a broad range of experience, in both the public and private sectors, relating to the planning, design, construction and management of major infrastructure projects. He has been involved in a number of such projects in a variety of roles – technical advisor to the public sector and to lenders, feasibility studies, participation in bidding consortia, design, contract administration, and project development from concept to implementation. He has had a particular focus on integrated procurement processes, where two or more of the key elements of procurement (design, construction, finance, operations, maintenance) are combined into a single contract structure. These processes cover a spectrum of contract structures, depending on the elements included. His involvement in a wide range of projects has gained him invaluable experience, not only with regard to the technical aspects, but also in respect of an awareness of the often disparate interests of the key stakeholders in an integrated procurement process. He also has considerable experience dealing with contractual issues and disputes arising on contracts governed by the various FIDIC contract conditions such as the Red Book. This experience was gained in both the public sector in the role of the Employer, and in the privare sector in the role of the Engineer. He has been involved in mediation proceedings as the representative of the Employer, and as a nominated member of a Dispute Adjudication Board.
“He recently retired as a Principal from Royal HaskoningDHV after 25 years of service, and currently acts as a special advisor to the firm.”
